Short trick to find the Square of Number

Today, we will learn about a short trick to find the square of a no ending with 5. Finding squares of numeral like 25, 35, and 65 is simple though very important. This is because it will help you at many places like in finding out squares of the numerals not ending with 5, in finding out square roots of numbers and also in finding out cube roots of the numbers.

Note: This method is applicable to all the numbers ending with 5 i.e. how many digits a numeral has are immaterial here.
So let us start learning its tricks step by step with the help of this simple example:

short trick to find the square

e.g. 1) Find the square of 35?

Step 1: Split the numeral into 2 parts in such a way that first part has   only 1 digit i.e. 5 (in every case) and the second part contains all  the  remaining digits of the numeral.
So in this case, it would be like 3 and 5.

Step 2: Now multiply the second part (other than the part having 5) with the next digit of the number system.
So, here we multiply 3 with 4, 3*4=12

Step 3: Now append 25 after the result that we have got in step 2.
So, 1225
And you’re done.

Let us take one more example this time a 3-digit numeral:

e.g. 2) find the square of 115?

Step 1: Split the numeral into 2 parts i.e. 11 and 5.

Step 2: Now multiply the second part (other than the part having 5) with the next digit of the number system.
Multiply 11 with 12, 11*12=132

Step 3: Now append 25 after the result that we have got in step 2.
So, 13225.
