SBI Associate PO Exam 2014 - Review

SBI associate PO exam 2014.I want to share my experience of SBI associate PO exam 2014 held on 30th November (evening shift). Overall the paper was Moderate to tough. Now, let us discuss the each section individually so as to have a deeper insight of the paper.

GK, Marketing and Computer Section:  I started off with Gk section. This section was easy to moderate. I have attempted 43 questions in this section and completed it in 15 minutes. Some of the questions that I could remember are as follows:
1)UNO opening year?
2)With which profession Anushka Shankar is associated with?
3)Development Scheme for the children of below 6 years?
4)MPs Village development scheme?
5)CTS-2010 is related to which reforms?
6)who started M-Pesa scheme?
7)National spot exchange merged with?
8)Autobiography of Natwar Singh?
9)Old name of the countries Zimbabwe, Istanbul and Palestine?
10)With whom Demat account is opened with?
11)Full form of UNHRC?
12)Full form of URL?
13)Question based on MS-Office versions?
14)Command to add all the values of a cell in MS-Excel .
15)Undo Command Shortcut?

English Section: Then I moved to English section. This section was moderate, except the 2 passages (Reading Comprehension). They were too time-consuming. I managed to complete it in 20 minutes and attempted 33 questions in this section.

2) Rearrangement: 5 questions
3) Fill in the blanks: 5 questions
4) Error detection-10 questions
5) Reading Comprehension- 20 questions


Reasoning Section: This section was moderate to tough. I have attempted 33 questions and completed this section in 35 minutes.

  • Sitting Arrangement :7 questions
  • Puzzle(floor-based): 5 questions
  • Syllogism: 6 questions
  • Inequalities: 6 questions
  • Data Sufficiency: 5 questions
  • Blood Relation: 3 questions
  • Line Arrangement : 5 questions
  • Machine Input Output: 5 questions
  • Miscellaneous (Decision Making, Weak and Strong Statement, Problem And Course Of Action)-8 questions.

Maths Section: Last but not the least, this section was Moderate as compared to SBI PO and IBPS- PO 2014. The questions were do-able. I have attempted 31 questions in this section.

  • Probability- 5 questions
  • Number Series-5 questions
  • Word Problem-5 questions
  • Data Sufficiency-5 questions
  • Data Interpretation(Table Charts,Bar Charts,Pie Charts and Line Graphs)- 30 questions.

Descriptive Paper: This Paper was Moderate but a bit time-consuming. I have attempted all the 5 Questions of this section. Questions were like:
  • A letter to your Bank Manager for requesting a loan as you are in urgent need of it and also enquire about different interest rates.
  • A précis on scope of marketing in the banking sector.
  • A Short Paragraph on importance of self-discipline, advantages, and disadvantages of Joint family.
  • An essay on BASEL-III norms, advantages and disadvantages of privatization of state-owned business.
  • A passage on education.
